Children and Sports Podiatry

Inspire podiatrists pride themselves on being the leaders in managing heel pain. Located in Albany Creek on Brisbane’s Northside our sports podiatrists consider themselves the heel pain “gurus”.

Plantar fasciitis is one condition that can cause heel pain. A thickening and weakening of the soft tissue ligament in the foot can cause the feeling of having a bruised heel. If you suffer from plantar fasciitis you may find it feels very hard to get up and walk with heel pain first thing in the morning. It is common to limp like you are walking on a bruised heel after a long run.
Some heel pain sufferers have had x-rays which show a heel spur. It is important to know that surgical shaving of the heel spur is not needed to resolve your heel pain. The part of the foot which causes the pain is not the heel spur. It is in the ligament which attaches to the spur and extends along the arch of the foot towards the big toe.

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common running injuries seen by podiatrists at Inspire Podiatry. We go beyond offering just orthotics for plantar fasciitis. We invest heavily in   We believe in offering multiple hands on treatments to treat your heel pain. We believe in making you “foot strong” again and discovering the source of your heel pain.

It is really important to look beyond the general podiatry approach to resolve chronic painful heels and Inspire Podiatry are the experts in heel pain. We don’t offer just orthotics to manage your heel pain. We offer foot mobilisation, dry needling, electrotherapy, balance and strengthening exercises. You may need a full posture, balance and running assessment in order to treat your heel pain injury. The holistic approach method to managing your foot pain is an individualised approach to meet your needs. Don’t worry if your not an elite athlete and have heel pain.
