Children and Sports Podiatry

Inspire Podiatry podiatrists offer “physio for the feet” and are experts at treating acute and chronic ankle pain. Pain in the ankle can be from an ankle sprain, tendon strain or ligamentous injury. Even if you have a mild injury, it is really important to have it professionally assessed by an expert who deals with the ankle joint and ankle pain everyday.

Inspire Podiatrists ensure we accurately diagnose your ankle pain. We treat the amount of ankle swelling and assess the ligaments and tendons involved in the injured ankle. Sometimes there may be a tear or chronic thickening of the Achillies tendon which results in a weakness or instability in the ankle.

When the ankle is rolled or if an ankle is twisted during a sporting activity, there are ligaments that connect bone to bone that can be stretched or torn. You don’t need a referral to see a sports podiatrist. If imaging such as x-rays or ultrasounds are required your podiatrist can refer you for these.

Your long term foot health is important to us! If an acute ankle injury is left untreated it can cause a painful adult flat foot in later life. Furthermore, it can also lead to early onset of arthritis in the foot.

Inspire Podiatrists can ensure that the balance of your foot function is restored. We offer 3D laser scanning soft prescription orthotics, joint mobilisation, dry needling, electrotherapy, muscle energy techniques, strength and conditioning programs and running assessments. We want to show you how to restore good strength and integrity to your feet.
